The Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello all!

I was tagged by the lovely Katie from Melting Pages in the Sunshine Blogger Award! A massive thank you to Katie for the nomination, please go and check out her blog if you haven’t already. Her blog is lovely, and so is she!

Once nominated, you write a post doing the following:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated them and link back to their blog
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger that nominated you asked
  • Nominate 11 other blogs and give them 11 new questions to answer
  • Notify your nominees and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post

Katie’s questions:

  • How did you come up with your blog name?
I just wanted something was book-based and memorable enough, and something that I could use across multiple platforms. Also, this is a blog of my thoughts, the thoughts of a reader, if you will.
  • What genre would you like to read more of?
I’d like to read more mystery/thriller books. I read In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware earlier this year and enjoyed it so I’d like to read more of this genre.
  • What is the best lesson you have learned from blogging?
I think the best lesson I’ve learnt so far is to interact with other bloggers. It’s not only beneficial to your blog but also you meet some amazing people! I love this blogging community.
  • If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
I’d like the power to fly without getting tired. I’d love to be able to fly to new places and see new countries without getting tired/for free.
  • What are your top tips that you give to new book bloggers?
Interact with blogs. Share your posts on Twitter/Facebook/wherever you want. And most importantly: have fun!
  • What made you decide to start blogging, and why did you choose books?
My brother suggested I start a blog as I was looking for something to fill my time whilst I waited to hear back about job applications/from interviews. I was bored and sick of just sitting around the house and needed something to occupy some of my time. I’ve just finished three years at university so having this long break was needed, but also I felt like I should be doing something. Thus, this blog was created. I chose books because they have always been a passion of mine. I’ve been an avid reader ever since I could read. I was even a fan before this point as both of my parents would read to my brother and I every night before bed. Books have, and always will, hold a special place in my heart.
  • If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I’ve always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand. I’ve loved the idea since I was a kid as I used to watch a lot of animal documentaries and animal programmes that were set in Australia, and it’s just somewhere I’d love to go. Hopefully in a few yeas time I’ll be able to make the trip over and explore somewhere I’ve always had my heart set on going.
  • What book would you want to reread like it was the first time?
I think my answer for this will always be Harry Potter. I wish I remembered what my first thoughts of the books were, but I read them when I was so young. All I know is that I loved them then, and I still love them now. Of course I’d never want to forget Harry Potter, but I would just love to re-experience that first read some day. Maybe one day I’ll be able to read it to my own children and see their first reactions to the world that holds a special place in my heart.
  • Do you have any bookish pet peeves?
When people don’t return my books after borrowing them.
  • What is the strangest thing that has happened to you since you started blogging?
So far I’ve not had anything strange as I’ve only been blogging about 2 months!
  • When you review a book, do you make notes before writing your review or do you just go for it?
Honestly it depends. I find that my reviews are better when I write notes on them, however sometimes they’re just as good if I just go for it and edit later.

I’m not tagging anyone to do this or setting questions as I am currently super tired from my first week in work! Sorry!

  1. I totally wish I could reread Harry Potter for the first time as well since I was also very young when I read it! I just remember the feelings of loving it so much, but I want to remember all my thoughts on it haha. Congrats on this award Sarah💕
