It’s officially February so I thought I’d share the books I read and bought last month. Overall I managed to read 4 books and start a fifth, and bought a few. January has probably been the best reading month for me since I started working back in October, an so far I’ve managed to stick to my work and review every book I’ve read in 2019!
Firstly, the four books I read in January were:
All of these have been great reads, and I’ve linked my reviews for them all above, if you want to check out my full thoughts on each.
Now on to the books that I bought this month.
The first was This Savage Song which I thoroughly enjoyed. I haven’t found a Victoria Schwab book that I haven’t enjoyed yet, and I don’t think I will. She’s a wonderful author and I’m so excited to be going to meet her next month!
The next was The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by McKenzie Lee. This is one that I’ve heard a lot about, and have never got around to picking up. I found this on ‘buy one get one half price’ at my local Waterstones and thought decided to get it. I’m excited to read this one as I know a lot of people love it and its sequel.
Next was a very different kind of book for me. I picked up This Is Going To Hurt by Adam Kay, which is the diaries of junior doctor. I think I’ll be reading this soon as it sounds really interesting and really moving.
Next I bought Our Dark Duet by V.E. Schwab. Obviously I’m very excited to read this one as I really enjoyed This Savage Song. I’m planning on reading this one this week as I’ve got a week off work, which I plan on spending reading. I can’t wait to get to this one!
Another sequel I’m looking forward to reading is The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson. I picked this up in Waterstones last week just after its release. I read Truly Devious very quickly last year, and I’m sure I’ll read this one quite fast too.
And finally. The last book I bought in January was….King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo. IT’S FINALLY OUT!!!! I’m currently about 10 chapters into it and I’m really enjoying it. I’m sure I’ll be finishing it early this week so that I can read some of these other books in my time off. I’ll definitely be writing a review of it as soon as I finish it. Also, can we talk about how beautiful this book is?! It’s even gorgeous under the dust jacket!
That’s the list of books I bought in January. I’m really looking forward to reading all of these this year. It’s been a good bookish month all around I think. I’m looking forward to reading more this month now.
Have you read any of these books? Are any on your TBR? Let me know!
